Juan, age 8. Juan recently enrolled at Kino. He is a quick learner, already showing dramatic improvement in his English language skills. He's energetic, with a joyful laugh that can be heard throughout the building. He likes listening to stories and working in Math, but he especially likes to help take care of the animals. (Kino has goats, sheep and chickens.) When Juan slows down he is a kind-hearted boy. He was seen sitting down outdoors next to a snoozing lizard – singing it a lullaby.

Melissa, age 10. Melissa is in her second year at Kino. She is very bright, and a quick learner. She especially likes Math and Art. She loves to read. Melissa’s real contribution is that she goes out of her way to help new students feel comfortable at Kino.

Amber. Amber is in her first year of high school and her third year at Kino. Amber likes Food Science and plans to be a chef in her studies after high school. She also enjoys art and is an avid reader.

Martin. Martin is a first year high school student in his second year at Kino. Martin loves Art and has done extensive work with spray-paint technique. He especially enjoys working in the shop, learning welding and woodworking. Martin is full of energy – helpful and friendly to students and staff alike.
